JAPANESE PEDIATRIC ORTHOPAEDIC ASSOCIATION (JPOA) ASIAN TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP AWARDS

Deadline: April 20, 2009

Fellowship
This fellowship program was founded by Japanese Pediatric Orthopaedic Association to support young candidates who have interest in the Pediatric Orthopaedics from any Asian countries. During one week in Japan, the candidates will visit and stay at an institution and attend the JPOA annual meeting. They also have to make presentation at that meeting. JPOA and founders hope that this will provide an opportunity to the candidate to broaden their experience, and prepare them for educational and leadership roles in our field.

Eligibility
An applicant must be an orthopaedic surgeon and under the age of 40 years old by the deadline date of April 20, 2009.

Financial Support
JPOA will support the airfare between each country and Japan, and the local accommodation. But the incidental costs like the fee for the spouse must be paid by the applicants.
The International Committee has approved the policy stating  " We has set an upper limit to the price of an economy class air ticket, depending on the flight distance."

Stay in Japan
Successful applicants should attend the 19th annual meeting of JPOA that will be held at Matsuyama, Ehime prefecture, during December 4-5, 2009 and present their study in the meeting. During 4 weeks stay in Japan, JPOA will arrange several hospitals to visit for the applicants.

Selection
The selection will be made based on the quality of their submitted manuscript.  The selection will be made by the May, 2009 and the successful applicants will be noticed by the end of May.

The International Committee of JPOA considers the application as an agreement to attend.
